A History of Bmx GamingIf we take a look at the general history of video gaming and virtual entertainment, the earliest pioneers created titles such as tetris, pacman, and space invaders. Because of the limitations of graphics and software, bmx games didn't arrive on the scene until the programmers capabilities and the technology improved. The early consoles included the atari, commodore 64, and the amiga. The graphics were simple, and the sounds were all midi.1987: The First Bmx Game is ReleasedWhen california games was released on the old school commodore 64 gaming system, it included lots of different sports games. One of them included riding the bmx. This was the first instance of a bmx game, and it was a huge success. Soon nintendo, sega, atari, and many gaming development companies jumped on the train. The Future of Bmx GamesI would like to see the nintendo wii do a release, as the controls would be very interactive with the new controller which is included. It would be really neat to see a bmx game which is played from a first person perspective, where you ride through the city on your bike and perform tricks, stunts, and have a good time. Todays technology would allow for this kind of video game, one where players could experience 64-bit graphics and great biking sounds. |
